Chapter Eight

“Jessie, he’ll come around. Give him time. He’s under a lot of pressure, being the oldest. It’s bound to be affecting how he sees you. To him, right now, you’re his responsibility, and he’s always taken that very seriously.” Kent pulled her into his arms.

She looked up into his eyes and knew she loved him, but she also knew she loved Wyatt as well. How could she handle being around and seeing Wyatt every day without being able to show him she loved him? It hurt deep inside of her.

Kent bent down and kissed her. He nipped at her lower lip until she opened to him, then delved inside her mouth where he teased her with his tongue. He licked the roof of her mouth and tickled along her cheek. She sucked on his tongue until he was fucking in and out of her mouth, much as her body ached for him to do to her pussy. She needed him.

“Kent?” she whispered.

“Soon, baby. Soon.”

She let him hold her for a few more seconds, then pulled away and wiped the tears from her eyes. She had things to do. They had a lot to get done before winter. She wasn’t helping matters by being needy.

“Let’s see if you can fix this leak.” She handed him the wrench and a small bag of washers.

“I think I can handle this. You go on and see which of the bedrooms we’re going to clean up first.”

Jessie left Kent working on the dripping faucet and checked each of the bedrooms. The best one for all of them was the master, where he was in the master bath now. It wouldn’t be the easiest, as there was a lot of junk in that bedroom, but it made the most sense because it was directly over the kitchen where there would be some heat during the winter. Plus it was large enough for all of them.

The problem was, what about Wyatt? Would he continue to sleep with them, or would he demand his own room? She really didn’t want to be separated from either of the men at all. Not just because she loved them both, but because deep down, she was still afraid she would be taken. She still had nightmares about it. She felt safer between them than she did with only one of them.

“Hey, Jessie? I think I have it fixed.” Kent’s voice called out from the bathroom.

Jessie walked back in and found him sitting on the floor next to the massive tub.

“See? No more leak.” He turned the water on and then off, and it stopped dripping.

“Cool. One problem down.”

“So, what bedroom?”

“I want us all to stick to the master because it’s safer for us all to be together and it’s the largest room.”

“What about Wyatt?”

“He stays with us until he refuses to. Then he can fix his own damn room.” Jessie huffed out a breath and walked out of the bedroom and downstairs.

She checked her watch and realized they would need to see about supper soon as it would be getting dark in another couple of hours.
